RURAL DESIGN ALMANAC

The agenda of the Rural Design Almanac is to document local wisdom, distribute regenerative design ideas, and contribute to rural design thinking. The content of the almanac draws from traditional wisdom and local expertise to understand the essence of each place and the opportunities for design in shaping the future of rural communities. Showing how vernacular architectural detailing, regenerative agriculture techniques, sustainable town planning methods, and climate adapted land management strategies differ between each region highlights the diversity of rural America and the need to look at each community contextually.

With support from PennPraxis, the Rural Design Almanac started in the summer of 2021 and is ongoing. More materials to come.
